registration + financial aid : be choosey
Education is a Lifetime Investment. Select carefully.Make sure you see
the school and meet the team of teachers who will be training you. Not
just some salesperson. Note if the schools seems to be working as a team
for the good of the students.The school should also be nationally accredited.
If not, ask why. A nationally accredited school, like ours, can award
Federal Grants and Federal Loans, if you qualify. (More about this under
Financial Aid) Also ask for the following information:
a. placement rates of the school's graduates
b. compensation a successful graduate may reasonably expect
c. the physical demands of practicing the profession
d. safety requirements for the profession;
e. licensing requirements for the jurisdiction in which the school is
located
f. completion rates for students in the school g. pass/fail rates of school
graduates on licensing examinations
Massachusetts Admission Requirements
1. The applicant must be 16 years old and be a high school graduate or
its equivalent.
2. Non high school graduates, must pass Wonderlic Basic Skills Test with
a score of 200 verbal & 210 quantitative. This test is given by a Professional
approved tester. 3. Have a personal interview with a school official.
Enrollment Cosmetology classes start
the first Monday of each month. Manicure & Barber Crossover classes start
dates may vary, but usually start every other month. Please call the school
for the next class start date.
Day Classes are held from 9:00 a.m.
to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with 1/2 hour for lunch, making a
6- hour school day and a 30-hour week. Part-time classes can be arranged
on an individual basis.
Evening Classes are Mon., Tues., Wed.
& Thurs. from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for 16 hours per week. The start
and expected ending date for each course will be written on the contract
for instruction. LaBaron Academy is closed Saturdays & Sunday.
Kansas' Admission Requirements
1. The applicant must be 17 years old and be a graduate of an accredited
high school, or its equivalent.
2. Each student must hold an Apprentice License issued by the Kansas State
Board of Cosmetology. To receive said License a student would need a $15.00
registered check made out to the Kansas Board of Cosmetology.
3. Verification of date of birth.
4. Have a personal interview with a school official.
Enrollment Classes start the first Monday

Day Classes are held from 8:30 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with 1/2 hour for lunch, 37 hours
per week or 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for 30 hours a week.
Evening Classes are Monday, Tuesday,
& Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. plus 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays
for 18 hours per week. LaBaron Academy, in Kansas, is closed Sunday.

interview will take place with one of our school officials. Our Financial
Aid Counselors are qualified to assist you plan how best to pay for the
cost of your education to become a professional. REMEMBER NOTHING IS MORE
COSTLY THAN A POOR EDUCATION.

*Your eligibility for these programs is determined from the results
of a financial aid application. The Financial Aid office will assist
you with every detail of the application; and you will receive an
estimate of your eligibility within minutes of completing this form.
You will need to bring:
*Complete signed copy of Federal income tax return for the previous year,
if applicable, or W-2’s for the previous year, or AFDC/ADC Benefits for
previous year.
*Verification of untaxed income for previous year, if applicable.
*Social Security Benefits for previous year, if applicable.
*Photo Identification.
If under the age of 24 and are not married or have no children you
are considered a Dependent Student and will also have to bring:
*Parents completed signed copy of Federal income tax return for the previous

HIGH SCHOOL GUIDENCE COUNSLORS CAN AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS High school
counselors can award one $500.00 scholarship to a deserving high school
senior interested in cosmetology. Please consult with the guidance counselor
at your high school for further details, or the closest school.

Statement of Non-discrimination LaBaron

Credit for Previous Training Credit
hours received and approved of by the Kansas or Massachusetts State Board
of Cosmetology, Division of Professional Licensure, will be credited to
trainee. The trainee will be charged the same hourly rate as the other
students. The Director will determine the balances of hours needed by
the trainee to complete LaBaron’s requirements.
Student Records Students, parents(s)
or guardian(s) in the event the student is still a minor, have the right
to gain access to their cumulative records by appointment and under the
supervision of the Director or designated Instructor.
Labaron's Right to Privacy Policy All
records and information pertaining to students, parents, guardians, or
staff members are to be kept confidential. No information is given to
third parties requesting data without written authorization from individual(s)
involved. Third parties requesting any information are required to have
a written legally authorized request.
Graduation A student will receive a
LaBaron Hairdressing Academy Diploma after he/she has completed mandatory
hours of training, passed the final examinations, completed the minimum
requirements listed under the curriculum with at least a 75% average,
and paid all financial obligations to the school. (To better prepare for
state exams LaBaron /Kay Harvey requires 80% as a passing grade in all
